The 3rd Management Committee, the CORE Group and the four Working Groups of the COST-funded project “RATIONING – MISSED CARE: An international and multidimensional problem” met on the 10th and 11th October 2017 at Hotel ILF in Prague, hosted by University of Ostrava. Through the two-day events, the RANCARE Action aimed to facilitate discussion on Rationing and Missed Nursing care, by implementing and promoting Cost Action Policies.
During the first day the Core Group met to update and discuss the progress of all of the Working Groups and the Action networking activities including Trainings Schools, Short Term Scientific Missions, meetings as well as the plan ahead. In total, 23 participants attended the Core Group meeting.
The Management Committee meeting, chaired by the Action Chair Professor Evridiki Papastavrou, took place on the following day with 50 participants from 26 member countries. Dr Karina Marcus, the science officer of the RANCARE Action, also attended the MC meeting and addressed questions from the participants. During the meeting, there was discussion and update about the current grant period of the Action as well as about the forthcoming activities for the subsequent grant period.
After the end of the MC meeting, all Working Groups met to discuss their ongoing projects. The Action has four Working Groups: WG 1 “Conceptualisation, Organisational, Methodological Issues”, WG2 “Evidence-based interventions design”, WG3 “Ethical Issues of rationing of nursing care” and WG4 “Educational Issues and training”.
