Οne day Café Conference that explored the relationship between the Fundamentals of Care and Missed Care at Flinders University

Visiting scholars; Professor Olga Riklikiene from the Lithuania University of Health Sciences, Emeritus Professor Patti Hamilton from Texas Woman’s University, and Associate Professor Clare Harvey from Central Queensland University joined Dr Kasia Bail from the University of Canberra and College academic staff for a one day Café Conference that explored the relationship between the Fundamentals of Care and Missed Care. The morning saw presentations on maternal morbidity and missed care, Failure to maintain as an aspect of missed care particularly for the older patient in the acute sector and a presentation by Professor Alison Kitson on the genesis of the Fundamentals of Care research agenda. Dr Riklikiene outlined the work of RANCARE in Europe, while Dr Tiffany Conroy addressed the research issues being addressed by the Fundamentals of Care team. The afternoon sessions explored clinical practice, education and research. Highlights of the afternoon were the comments from Trish Currie from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation and Dr Adrienne Lewis from SA Dental, Oral Health.
