Press Release “International Council of Nurses (ICN) executive members update on the Missed Nursing Care and RANCARE ACTION”

By | December 31, 2019

The Cyprus Nursing and Midwifery Council organised the annual Conference on 28-30th November, 2019 in Limassol, Cyprus.

During this event members of the International council of nurses attended the event and organised their executive board meeting.

Associate Professor Kasia Bail, from the University of Canberra, Australia, member of RANCARE International Partners Countries, attended the International Council of Nurses on their Cyprus tour following the board meeting and the CYNMA Conference. Dr Bail was invited by the Cyprus University of Technology to present her work during a conference related to nurse sensitive indicators and discuss possible collaborations. RANCARE Action brings together researchers from different disciplines, professionals and other stakeholders and aims to facilitate discussions on the rationing of nursing care (conceptualisation, methodological issues, intervention design, ethics and educational issues).

Professor Bail updated some members on the current science of missed care developing with RANCARE, and discussions about terminology and conceptualisation of missed nursing care occurred. Missed care is a fruitful avenue for further discussion, particularly in the current focus of advanced practice nursing that the ICN has in its sights
